To Our Friends and Neighbors in Irvine and South Orange County
Welcome to the newest edition of Hoag in Your Community, aptly named because that is our commitment to you: to be there for you with accessible, world-class health care where it’s needed most, in your community.
In just the past few years alone, we’ve brought best-in-class medical care and wellness services to Irvine, Foothill Ranch, San Clemente, Aliso Viejo and other communities. From the latest in cancer diagnosis and treatment, to specialized women’s services, to digestive health, to holistic lifestyle counseling, fitness programs and more, our expanding network of community health centers and neighborhood urgent care centers are close by when you need them.
We’re proud of the partnerships we’ve formed within the communities we serve, including school districts, businesses and, of course, the many individuals and families who have entrusted us with their care.
And we’re equally proud that we’re able to provide them with what is increasingly being recognized as some of the very best health care the nation offers. This summer, Hoag was named among the top 1 % of hospitals in the nation to achieve top rating in all 17 procedures and conditions evaluated by U.S. News & World Report. The ranking places Hoag in a league with Cleveland Clinic and Mayo Clinic-Phoenix, among other elite American medical institutions.
In this issue of Hoag in Your Community, you’ll meet a few members of Hoag’s outstanding health care team. Some of them are your friends and neighbors, such as Dr. Jeremiah Ray, a former professional snowboarder who joined the sports medicine team at Hoag Health Center Foothill Ranch after serving as head of intercollegiate athletic sports at UC Davis. The moment Dr. Ray and his family moved into their home in Trabuco Canyon, they were captivated by South Orange County’s scenic beauty and endless outdoor recreational opportunities. And you’ll meet Dr. Moses Kim and his wife Dr. Linda Chung who moved to Irvine to raise their two sons and help Hoag realize its vision for Irvine.
We believe the key to health care equity is elevating quality of care locally, in the communities of South Orange County and beyond. The stories in this edition underscore that commitment. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as we enjoy bringing them to you.
