2016 Orange County Most Trusted Brand in Health Services

Hoag was named as the most trusted brand in Health Services at the 2016 Orange County Most Trustworthy Brand event on July 28, 2016. The event was hosted by The Values Institute and California State University, Fullerton, College of Communications.

Below is coverage of the event from the Orange County Business Journal:

In-N-Out Burgers Inc. President Lynsi Snyder made a rare public appearance today at the Disneyland Hotel to pick up the 2016 Most Trustworthy Leader Award, while her Irvine–based company beat co-finalists Yard House USA Inc. in Irvine and BJ’s Restaurants Inc. in Huntington Beach for top honors in the restaurant chain category.

The Center for Brand Values Communication and Research at California State University-Fullerton, along with Amusement Park ad agency in Santa Ana and its marketing think tank, the Values Institute, hosted the annual event.

“It’s an honor to be here and I feel like I’m accepting this for my family as well,” Snyder said, fighting back tears. “They’ve created In-N-Out, they’ve set the standard, and they loved people—and I’m just trying to continue that.”

Disneyland in Anaheim won in the entertainment category, ahead of Segerstrom Center for the Arts and South Coast Plaza, both in Costa Mesa. Vans Inc. in Cypress came ahead of Quiksilver Inc. in Huntington Beach and Foothill Ranch-based Oakley Inc. for apparel, while the University of California-Irvine beat out Chapman University and Cal State Fullerton in the higher-education category.

Other winners include the Automobile Club of Southern California in Costa Mesa for finance and insurance; Goodwill of Orange County in Tustin for non-profit; and Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach in the health services category. Trader Joe’s picked up honors in general retail, Google Inc. for technology, and Honda motor Corp. for automotive.

The Values Institute and students from CSUF used a TrustPulse online survey to select an initial field of 200 companies that either are based in Orange County or have a strong presence here and have exhibited “exemplary public trust and social [entrepreneurship].”

The 30 finalists emerged from the group, selected by some 1,000 respondents to the survey.
