Hoag is excited to welcome Katherine (Katie) Blevins, M.D., Ph.D. to the Digestive Health Institute and its Bariatric Weight Loss Program.
Skilled in both laparoscopic and robotic techniques, Dr. Blevins is a minimally invasive surgeon with a focus in bariatric and advanced gastrointestinal surgery. She completed General Surgery residency at Stanford University, where she spent two additional years as a Stanford Biodesign Innovation Fellow. She went on to complete fellowship training in advanced gastrointestinal surgery, minimally invasive surgery and bariatric surgery at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. She is Board Certified in General Surgery.
While earning her Ph.D. in Bioengineering at the University of Utah, Dr. Blevins discovered her passion for the translational aspects of research and chose to expand her background in clinical medicine. She then earned her medical degree from the University of Utah, where she fell in love with surgery and patient care. Dr. Blevins’ long-term goals are to integrate clinical practice as a surgeon with advancing innovation in medical technology.
