The Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) released PulsePoint today, a new free mobile app available for iPhone and Android. The app alerts individuals trained in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) when a sudden cardiac arrest occurs in a public place in their immediate vicinity.
PulsePoint is now available to the residents of Orange County through a generous grant from Hoag. “We are proud to support the Orange County Fire Authority in providing this important public safety app for the citizens we serve” said Gwyn Parry, M.D., director, Department of Community Health and Community Benefit Programs at Hoag.
Cardiac arrest is one of the leading causes of death in the United States.
