$25 Million from Benjamin and Carmela Du
Benjamin and Carmela Du gave $25 Million to the Boldly Hoag campaign for the expansion of Hoag’s Sun Family Campus in Irvine

$25 Million from Devon and Kevin Martin, Carole Pickup, Natalie and Todd Pickup
Devon and Kevin Martin, Carole Pickup, Natalie and Todd Pickup gave $25 Million to establish the CareMar Recovery Center, a state-of-the-art powerhouse of care for those living with substance use disorders, to be located on Hoag’s Newport Beach campus.

$15 Million from George and Julia Argyros
George and Julia Argyros gave $15 Million to further enhance Hoag’s nationally renowned nursing services and support the Julia Argyros Center for Nursing Excellence, which funds continuing education for nurses.

Clinicians, staff, Hospital leaders, and donors to the Boldly Hoag campaign joined together to leave their mark and celebrate raising the highest beam on the Surgical Pavilion in June and the Women’s Hospital Pavilion and Cancer & Digestive Health Pavilion in October.

Caroline A. Pereira, MBA, became president of Hoag Hospital Foundation in June
In this role she oversees one of the nation’s highest-performing nonprofit organizations, which raises over $100 million annually to support Hoag’s growing health network. In collaboration with its Board of Directors, Pereira leads the more than 80-person Hoag Hospital Foundation team, with offices in Newport Beach and Irvine.

James & Pamela Muzzy Executive Medical Director Endowed Chair
The Foundation obtained the philanthropic funding to establish the James & Pamela Muzzy Executive Medical Director Endowed Chair in GI Cancer, Digestive Health Institute, held by world renowned gastroenterologist Kenneth J. Chang, MD.

Outstanding Philanthropic Group Award
Foundation volunteer group Circle 1000 received the prestigious Outstanding Philanthropic Group award at National Philanthropy Day, presented by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
This honor celebrates the group’s 37 years of generosity to the Hoag Family Cancer Institute. Hoag friend and donor, the late Dick Pickup, was also honored at National Philanthropy Day with an In-Memoriam tribute for his visionary generosity which continues to shape neurological care through the Pickup Family Neurosciences Institute and Richard H. Pickup Center for Brain Health.

Hoag Innovators raised over $25 million since 2017
Hoag Innovators—a group of philanthropists, entrepreneurs, and community leaders—with a shared vision to advance health care innovation at Hoag, have raised over $25 million since 2017 through collective giving from members.
In 2024, the group voted to allocate more than $2 million toward projects led by Hoag clinicians for new technology and groundbreaking studies. The group is defined by its active engagement, discretionary review, and collaborative decision-making on philanthropic investments that will make the greatest impact on patient care.
