
The Spine Institute saw a 2 percent growth in elective spine surgeries over 2023, and HSC spine surgeons saw a 20 percent growth in volume over 2023.
Spine surgical volumes grew while also maintaining quality outcomes: readmissions related to spine surgeries decreased by more than half compared to 2023. Also, average length of stay, observed infections/infection rates trended favorably compared to the previous year’s quality metrics.
Established clinical research (launch of retrospective and prospective studies); with Foundation support, established a clinical research team and partnered with Ortech (data management platform, also the designated data registry to the North American Spine Society) to collect and analyze patient outcomes and spine care treatments.
Saw growth and expansion of Interventional Pain services; the integration of Dr. Aaron Przybysz; and continued growth in 2025 with additional PM&R/Pain Interventionalists. The institute has a goal of expanding pain services and expand access to care.
The institute hosted grand Rounds and Case Conferences: established and hosted the institutes own annual meeting series, bringing together various clinical departments and subject matter experts to collaborate and enhance standards of care related to spine care.
