The Hoag Classic, Orange County’s only PGA TOUR Champions event, returns to Newport Beach Country Club on March 15 to 19, 2023.
Defending champion and World Golf Hall of Fame member, Retief Goosen returns alongside other golf legends to compete for the $2 million purse.
The 2023 event will also feature many of the same fan favorite tournament programs including Military Appreciation Day, presented by CoreLogic on Saturday, March 18 and Student Day, presented by Kingston Technology on Sunday, March 19, as well as fan attractions around the golf course and the Legends Pro-Am on Wednesday, March 15 and Thursday, March 16.
“The positive light the Hoag Classic sheds on Orange County residually impacts the businesses and individuals who reside here,” said Jeff Purser, executive director, Hoag Charity Sports. “With more than $21 million in total charitable proceeds raised throughout its history, the tournament is one of the most successful philanthropic events on the PGA TOUR Champions.”
The event will once again feature Hoag as the title sponsor and beneficiary of Orange County’s only PGA TOUR event. Konica Minolta and City National Bank will both return as Presenting Partners for the fourth year. This year, the tournament’s net proceeds will benefit Hoag’s programs and services, as well as several military charities.
