About Dr. Herman
Empowering his patients to make informed decisions is the goal of Dr. Herman’s practice at Hoag Medical Group. As an internist, he treats adults of all ages and finds it very rewarding to serve his local community.
Dr. Herman takes the time to listen, evaluate and educate his patients. He employs a patient-centered approach where the patient is the focal point and the nurses, doctors, physical therapists and specialists create a support system around the patient. He enjoys getting to know his patients and fosters a strong doctor-patient relationship. As a result, he provides his patients with individualized care plans that are tailored to their specific needs.
With a focus on providing top-tier care, Dr. Herman provides compassion and empathy to his patients. He combines evidence-based medicine with critical thinking to provide his patients with solutions. As he states, “When my patients succeed, I succeed, and that allows them to move forward in their health care journey.”
Dr. Herman earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical School in New Orleans, Louisiana and completed his internal medicine residency at the Navy Medical Center in San Diego, California.
During his time away from the office, Dr. Herman can be found outdoors and staying active. He particularly enjoys playing golf, tennis, and pickleball as well as running, hiking and weightlifting. He and his wife are South County residents.
