NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., April 3, 2017 — Hoag Wound Care Center was honored by Healogics, the nation’s leading and largest wound care management company, with three national awards for clinical distinction. The center received the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Center of Excellence Award, the Center of Distinction Award for clinical excellence and the President’s Circle award for 2016.
With a healing rate of 94 percent and an average healing time that is six days faster than the national average, Hoag was the only Orange County hospital and one of just seven California hospitals that qualified as a Center of Excellence.

The Center of Excellence Award is given to Wound Care Centers® in the Healogics network that have met the highest level of quality standards for a minimum of two consecutive years. Across the country, 334 centers were eligible and 169 centers were honored with this award in 2016.
Hoag Wound Care Center provides specialized treatment for chronic or non-healing wounds at Hoag Health Center Newport Beach and Hoag Health Center Irvine – Sand Canyon. With the state-of-the-art treatments available including debridement, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, dressing selection, special shoes, and patient education, the centers use an interdisciplinary model of care, including infectious-disease management, physical therapy, occupational therapy, laboratory evaluation, nutritional management, pain management, diabetic education, radiology testing, and debridement to address total patient health.
