Carol Chow, MSN, FNP-C; RNFA

• Nurse Practitioner Supervisor

Carol Chow is the Clinical Nurse Practitioner Supervisor to the Foregut (upper GI) and Bariatric Surgery division. In this role, Carol is responsible for end-to-end patient care. She meets with new patients at the time of their initial consultation, explains complex disease physiology, testing results as well pre and postoperative expectations.  As a credentialed Registered Nurse First Assist, she participates during each surgery.  She has participated in hundreds of upper GI and bariatric surgeries throughout her career.

Carol began her nursing career at Hoag in inpatient oncology before moving into Foregut and Bariatric.  As a leader in her field, she is passionate about nursing education and trains other nurses at Hoag and at other hospitals on Foregut related procedures. Carol earned her Bachelor’s of Science from UCLA and her Master’s of Science Nursing (MSN) and Doctorate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) degrees from Western University of Health Sciences.
