Electrogastrograms (EGG)

Overview

Electrogastrography is a method of recording electrogastrograms (EGGs). The 3CPM EGG machine is used as a noninvasive test to diagnose motility disorders, such as gastroparesis, unexplained nausea, dyspepsia and GERD. The EEG measures the electrical activity of the stomach, like an EEG of the heart measures a heart’s electrical activity.

How it Works

To perform the test, electrodes are placed on your abdomen, and measure the wave frequency produced by the stomach. Based on the signals, we can identify various motility disorders.
